Utility Financial Specialist

The City of Henderson announces an examination to create an eligibility list and to fill one (1) vacancy for the classification of Utility Financial Specialist in the Department of Utility Services. The eligibility list may be utilized to fill vacancies for this classification for up to one (1) year.

Under limited supervision, performs financial and administrative analysis for the Department of Utility Services related to financial modeling and projections, revenue forecasting, Utility Management System audits, and business process reviews; performs related duties as assigned.

Salary and Benefits

• Competitive Salary Range of $83,097.37 - $ annually; salary placement for non-represented positions is based on a comprehensive review and takes into consideration that candidate s qualifications as well as internal equity.*
• Base Wage increase upon successful completion of Initial Probationary or Qualifying Period.**

  • Four (4) Day, 38-hour workweek (Monday to Thursday, 7:30 am to 5:30 pm).
    * This position is eligible for remote work for up to half of the regularly scheduled work week; at least 50% of the work time must be spent in-person onsite. This option for remote work is only available for incumbents who successfully complete their probationary/qualifying period. Remote work options for this classification are subject to change.

• Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration or a closely related field
• Five (5) years of full-time professional accounting or internal auditing and data analysis experience
• Note:
  
  An equivalent combination of related education, experience, and training may be considered
• Desirable:
  Professional accounting or auditing experience for a municipal government
• Desirable:
  Actual work experience with a large and complex customer service billing system
• Desirable:
  Experience performing business analysis work in a utility organization
• Desirable:
  Experience with PowerBI, preferably to create dashboards
• Desirable:
  Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license
• Desirable:
  Master s Degree in a closely related field
