Description Summary The Note Finance Analyst is responsible for supporting the day-to-day administration, validation, and monitoring of Note Finance collateral and borrower reporting. This role performs detailed reviews of borrower data, collateral documentation, borrowing base support, and operational processes to ensure accurate reporting and compliance with established requirements. The analyst is responsible for executing assigned reviews, maintaining documentation, identifying discrepancies, and escalating issues to management for resolution.
This position is highly detail-oriented and focuses on accurate execution, documentation, and operational support across the Note Finance portfolio. The role works closely with Operations, Credit, Risk, and external borrowers to support ongoing portfolio management activities.
- Perform Borrower Data Tape Reviews:
Review borrower-submitted Data Tapes for completeness, accuracy, and adherence to reporting requirements. Validate key loan-level information, including balances, borrower information, collateral values, lien positions, and reporting attributes. Identify discrepancies, exceptions, and data quality concerns requiring further review. Maintain supporting documentation and evidence of completed reviews. Escalate unresolved issues, reporting anomalies, and potential collateral concerns to management. - Support Borrowing Base Administration:
Assist with the review of borrowing base submissions and supporting collateral schedules. Verify pledged collateral eligibility in accordance with facility requirements. Track collateral additions, removals, substitutions, and releases. Support reconciliation of collateral balances between borrower reporting and internal systems. Maintain organized records supporting borrowing base reviews and decisions. - Review Collateral Documentation:
Review collateral files to confirm presence of required documentation, including:
Notes Allonges Assignments Collateral schedules Other required legal documentation. Track missing documents and coordinate remediation efforts with borrowers and internal partners. Maintain collateral inventories and documentation trackers. - Critical Thinking & Risk Identification:
Demonstrate strong critical thinking skills by evaluating information for reasonableness, identifying inconsistencies, and investigating exceptions rather than relying solely on checklist-based reviews. Apply independent judgment when reviewing borrower data, collateral documentation, and operational processes to identify potential risks, trends, or control weaknesses that may not be immediately apparent. Challenge assumptions and elevate concerns when information appears incomplete, inaccurate, or inconsistent with established expectations.
Utilize analytical reasoning to connect findings across multiple data sources, documentation sets, and reporting periods to identify potential collateral, operational, or reporting risks. Maintain a continuous improvement mindset by identifying opportunities to strengthen controls, improve processes, and enhance the quality of portfolio oversight.
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, Economics, or a related field, or equivalent combination of education and relevant work experience.
- 3+ years of experience in lending operations, loan administration, collateral management, banking operations, audit support, financial services, or related fields.
- Experience reviewing financial data, loan documentation, or collateral records preferred.
- Familiarity with commercial lending, borrowing base facilities, or credit operations is beneficial.
- Strong organizational and documentation skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
- Analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office applications.
- Ability to follow established procedures and controls.
