This full-time Mortgage Loan Officer role is based in Phoenix, AZ and follows a hybrid work model, combining on-site presence with some work-from-home flexibility. The Mortgage Loan Officer will originate and manage residential mortgage loan applications, guiding members through the loan process from initial inquiry to closing. Daily responsibilities include assessing borrowers’ financial profiles, explaining loan products and terms, collecting and verifying documentation, and coordinating with underwriting, processing, and closing teams.
The role involves providing responsive, empathetic customer service, addressing member questions, and ensuring compliance with lending regulations and Navy Federal policies. The Mortgage Loan Officer will also build and maintain relationships with internal partners and external referral sources to support loan volume and member satisfaction.
- Experience in Loan Officer roles with a strong focus on member guidance and ethical lending practices.
- Knowledge of the Mortgage Industry and Mortgage Lending processes, including conventional, VA, and other mortgage products.
- Familiarity with Underwriting principles and documentation requirements, and ability to collaborate effectively with underwriting teams.
- Demonstrated Customer Service skills, including clear communication, active listening, and problem-solving in a fast-paced environment.
- Relevant licenses or registrations as required for mortgage loan origination in Arizona, and familiarity with federal and state lending regulations.
- Proficiency with loan origination systems, basic financial analysis, and standard office software.
- Ability to work in a hybrid environment, manage multiple loan files simultaneously, and meet production and quality goals.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; associate or bachelor’s degree in finance, business, or a related field is beneficial.
