About the Role
Our client is actively seeking a highly skilled and motivated Remote Quantitative Analyst to join their innovative financial modeling team. This is a fully remote position, offering the flexibility to work from anywhere within South Africa. You will be instrumental in developing and implementing sophisticated quantitative models for trading strategies, risk management, and asset valuation. This role requires a deep understanding of mathematics, statistics, and programming, applied to complex financial markets.
You will collaborate with portfolio managers and traders globally, contributing cutting-edge analytical solutions from your home office, fostering a results-driven culture that values intellectual curiosity and data-driven decision-making.
- Design, develop, test, and implement complex quantitative models for financial markets.
- Analyze large datasets to identify patterns, risks, and opportunities for trading and investment strategies.
- Collaborate with traders and portfolio managers to refine models and implement new strategies.
- Develop and maintain efficient algorithms and software tools for data analysis and model execution.
- Perform rigorous back-testing and validation of models to ensure accuracy and robustness.
- Stay abreast of the latest academic research and industry trends in quantitative finance.
- PhD or Master's degree in a quantitative field such as Mathematics, Statistics, Physics, Computer Science, or Financial Engineering.
- Proven experience (4+ years) as a Quantitative Analyst, Quant Trader, or in a similar quantitative role within the finance industry.
- Strong programming skills in languages like Python, C++, or R, with experience in data manipulation and statistical libraries.
- Deep understanding of financial mathematics, stochastic calculus, time series analysis, and econometrics.
- Experience with financial data sources and trading platforms.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills, comfortable working independently in a remote environment.
