Position is Monday through Friday 8 am to 5 pm with ability to work additional hours as needed.

Incumbent should be located anywhere within the Arvest 4 State Footprint (AR, KS, MO, OK). Remote work options may be available outside of the 4-state footprint upon further review during the interview process.

Job Summary

The Fraud Risk Analyst handles complex fraud alerts and investigations, supporting governance activities and acting as a liaison between operational teams, compliance leadership, and business partners. This role investigates and analyzes financial activity across banking channels and determines appropriate escalation or resolution pathways for potential fraud incidents and financial crime risks.

Responsibilities

Monitor, analyze, and investigate financial activity to identify potential fraud, money laundering, sanction violations, and other financial crime risks.

Conduct and document within regulatory framework detailed investigations involving customer accounts, transactional patterns, payment activity, and related customer relationships to identify unusual or suspicious behavior, resulting in escalation, as needed.

Support compliance with the Bank Secrecy Act, USA PATRIOT Act, and the Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) regulations through daily operational activities such as transaction monitoring review, sanctions alert analysis, customer due diligence validation, and adherence to Customer Identification Program (CIP) requirements.

Evaluate customer risk indicators and assists in Enhanced Due Diligence (EDD) reviews for higher risk customers or unusual activity patterns.

Participate in Quality Assurance and Quality Control departmental activities regulatory programs, identify errors, trends, or control gaps and contribute to root cause analysis and process improvement efforts designed to strengthen program effectiveness.

Assist with financial crime risk assessment activities by gathering data, analyzing trends, and supporting risk evaluations across products, customer types, and delivery channels, contributing to risk assessment documentation, metrics reporting, and control validation exercises supporting enterprise governance requirements, as needed.

Support internal audit reviews and regulatory examinations by compiling documentation, responding to information requests, validating investigative records, and assisting leadership with remediation tracking and issue resolution efforts.

Work collaboratively with multiple business units to obtain information, clarify activity, and ensure appropriate risk mitigation actions are taken.

Maintain current knowledge of financial crime typologies, regulatory expectations, and industry best practices, contributing to departmental initiatives, process improvements, and special projects designed to enhance detection capabilities, operational efficiency, and customer protection.

Understand and comply with bank policies, laws, regulations, and the bank's BSA/AML Program, as applicable to job duties. This includes, but is not limited to, completing compliance training, adhering to internal procedures and controls, reporting any known violations of compliance policies, laws, or regulations, and reporting any suspicious customer and/or account activity.

Other duties and special projects may be assigned.

Experience

Required:

2 years of related experience in fraud investigations.

Preferred:
Experience in BSA/Anti-Money Laundering (AML) operations, alert, and investigations.

Preferred:
Experience using financial crime monitoring platforms such as Verafin, Actimize, or similar systems.

Demonstrated knowledge of banking systems and Google Workspace and Microsoft 365 or other applicable software.

Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and sound judgment.

Proven communication and collaboration skills to effectively escalate concerns and support enterprise financial crime prevention objectives.

Relevant work experience may be substituted for the Bachelor's degree requirement.

Relevant military experience is considered for veterans and transitioning service members.

Credentials

Preferred:
Certified Anti-Money Laundering Specialist (CAMS), Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE), Certified Financial Crime Specialist (CFCS), or Certified AML or Fraud Professional (CAFP)
