Job Description & How to Apply Below

At Near, we connect top talent in Latin America with exciting remote opportunities at U.S.

-based companies. Our mission is to create better lives by fostering a remote work culture that transcends borders.

About the Company:

Our client, Theta, is an innovative firm hiring finance experts to build, review, and improve high-quality financial modeling work. They work as a global team to create meaningful impact by translating complex business situations, transactions, and messy source materials into clear, robust analytical structures.

About the Role:

We're looking for a Finance Expert who combines deep technical financial mastery with grit and confidence. You'll build and review complex financial models from scratch and collaborate across domain teams to create detailed, defensible financial structures. This role requires someone who is highly analytical and proactive, takes initiative in the face of ambiguity, and delivers high-quality, real-world modeling logic even when working with incomplete information.

You

Will:
  • Build financial models from scratch across a wide range of complex finance use cases.
  • Review, refine, and improve models created by other finance experts.
  • Create realistic finance scenarios, assumptions, and supporting source materials.
  • Build detailed schedules for revenue, cost, working capital, capital expenditure, debt, covenants, valuation, and scenario analysis.
  • Turn messy or incomplete source data into clear, structured, and defensible financial logic.
  • Identify weak assumptions, broken logic, missing schedules, and oversimplified analysis in existing models.
  • Explain modeling choices clearly and defend the underlying rationale behind your work.
Your Background:
  • 2 to 8+ years of relevant finance experience in domains such as Investment Banking, Credit, Corporate Finance / FP&A, Debt Capital Markets, Private Equity, Risk, Quantitative Finance, or Private Credit.
  • Proven track record of personally owning and building real financial models from scratch (beyond simply filling out templates).
  • Advanced Excel modeling skills.
  • Expert-level understanding of core finance concepts, including cash flow, valuation, leverage, liquidity, and capital structure.
  • High degree of self-motivation, attention to detail, and ability to work independently with ambiguous problems.
  • Excellent written and verbal English communication skills - comfortable presenting and defending modeling logic in a distributed environment.
Nice to Have:
  • Experience with debt, credit, restructuring, commercial real estate, asset-backed securities, asset-based lending, or structured finance models.
  • Background in creating or reviewing modeling tests, case studies, or training materials.
  • Familiarity with artificial intelligence tools, automation, or data workflows.
  • Compensation in USD
  • 15 PTO + Holidays (US or local, with local holidays capped at the total number of US holidays)
