Full-Time Job Accounting, Data Analytics, Economics & Finance

A boutique financial valuation firm in New York City is looking to add an Analyst to its team.

We are looking for someone with strong financial, analytical, accounting, and writing skills who is motivated, dependable, and willing to take ownership of their work.

This is a small firm, so the role is hands-on. Analysts work closely with senior professionals, get exposure to different types of assignments, and are expected to contribute across the entire process.

Experience using AI in finance, accounting, or analytical work is required. We use AI as part of our workflow and expect candidates to be comfortable using it to research, analyze information, review documents, organize data, and improve efficiency. At the same time, the Analyst must be able to independently evaluate the work, identify errors or gaps, and form their own conclusions.

Responsibilities
  • Perform financial analysis for valuation assignments.
  • Review financial statements, agreements, legal documents, client materials, and other supporting information.
  • Identify relevant facts, financial trends, inconsistencies, and open items.
  • Build and maintain Excel-based financial models and supporting analyses.
  • Assist with drafting valuation reports and client deliverables.
  • Turn complex financial and business information into clear written analysis.
  • Conduct company, industry, and market research.
  • Follow up on missing information and outstanding questions.
  • Manage multiple assignments and deadlines while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Communicate professionally with clients, auditors, senior professionals, and internal team members.
  • Use AI tools as part of day-to-day financial, accounting, research, and analytical work.
  • Review and challenge AI-generated output for accuracy, relevance, and sound reasoning.
  • Use independent judgment and take responsibility for the final work product.
What You Must Have
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, Economics, or a related field.
  • Strong understanding of financial statements and basic accounting and finance concepts.
  • Previous business, accounting, finance, valuation, investment, banking, consulting, or related internship or work experience.
  • Strong analytical and critical-thinking skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Good attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • Self-motivated and able to work independently.
  • Willingness to take ownership and follow through.
  • Demonstrated experience using AI tools in finance, accounting, financial analysis, research, or other business-related work.
  • Ability to use AI effectively without relying on it to replace independent analysis, judgment, or conclusions.
  • Ability to review AI-generated work, recognize errors or unsupported conclusions, and determine what is actually relevant to an assignment.
  • Comfortable learning and adapting to new AI tools and technology as they develop.
What Sets You Apart
  • Accounting, Finance, or Business major.
  • Previous valuation or financial analysis experience.
  • Experience reviewing and analyzing financial statements.
  • Financial modeling experience.
  • Strong professional writing skills.
  • Advanced use of AI for financial research, document review, analysis, data organization, or professional writing.
  • Ability to work through a large amount of information and quickly identify what matters.
  • Curiosity and an interest in understanding the business behind the numbers.
  • Motivated and adaptable when assignments or priorities change.
  • Comfortable working in a small firm where responsibilities may overlap and everyone is expected to contribute.
Work Schedule
  • In-office Monday through Thursday.
  • Work from home Friday.
  • Some flexibility may be required to meet client deadlines.
  • Base salary:
    Based on experience and qualifications.
  • Company-paid lunch on in-office days.

We are looking for someone who wants to learn, work hard, take on responsibility, and grow with the firm.
