Remote Tax Accountant

About the Role

Our client is seeking a knowledgeable and proactive Remote Tax Accountant to join their virtual finance team. This role will be responsible for managing the company's tax compliance and planning strategies across various jurisdictions, operating entirely remotely. You will play a key role in ensuring tax efficiency and minimizing liabilities while adhering to all relevant tax laws. This position is perfect for a tax professional who thrives in an independent, results-oriented environment and is adept at leveraging technology for remote collaboration and analysis.

• Prepare and file all South African tax returns accurately and on time, including corporate income tax, VAT, and PAYE.
• Conduct tax research to ensure compliance with current tax legislation and identify potential tax savings opportunities.
• Assist in tax planning initiatives to optimize the company's tax position.
• Liaise with tax authorities and external tax advisors as required.
• Maintain accurate tax records and documentation for audit purposes.
• Advise management on the tax implications of business decisions and transactions.

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Taxation.
• A professional qualification such as SAIPA, SAIT, CA(SA), or CIMA is highly desirable.
• Minimum of 4 years of experience in tax accounting, with a strong focus on South African tax laws.
• Proficiency in tax preparation software and strong analytical skills.
• Experience working in a remote or distributed team environment is advantageous.
