The Customer Due Diligence (CDD) 1 Investigator
The Customer Due Diligence (CDD) 1 Investigator will investigate, analyze and identify high-risk customers and monitor the risk of potential Anti-Money Laundering or Terrorist Financing activity to ensure compliance with the Bank Secrecy Act. Maintain a working knowledge of the Bank Secrecy Act, Anti-Money Laundering efforts, USA PATRIOT Act and OFAC and awareness of industry best practices.
Duties & Responsibilities- Perform ongoing Customer Due Diligence (CDD) reviews of the bank's high-risk customer population through public records, media and other internal research tools.
- Review customer transactional activity in combination with the customer profile to mitigate/escalate potential suspicious activity.
- Effectively communicates with branch staff or front office support to obtain additional information and documentation as needed.
- Adheres to department SLAs, while also maintaining productivity and quality standards.
- Performs Enhanced Due Diligence (EDD) on high-risk individuals and businesses as required.
- Recommends appropriate follow-up and possible account closure for customers that exceed the Banks risk tolerance.
- Present high-risk customers to Senior Management for review as needed.
- Identifies areas for process improvements.
- Flexible to perform other functions as requested by management.
- High School Diploma required (or GED equivalent).
- 2+ years of banking experience, with exposure to fraud, criminal investigations and/or financial crimes compliance/risk management mitigation.
- Excellent writing skills, with experience writing in a concise and understandable format.
- Excellent critical thinking and organizational skills in a high-pressure environment.
- Excellent verbal and interpersonal communication skills.
- Ability to work in a fast paced, high pressure environment with professionalism, courtesy and tact.
- Ability to shift priorities as needed to meet demand.
- Analytical and problem solving abilities.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Self-motivated, deadline driven and able to work in an ever changing environment.
- Basic PC skills - MS Word, Excel, web based applications.
- Associate's or Bachelor's Degree.
- Experience identifying and escalating atypical activity.
- Knowledge of federal regulations (USA PATRIOT Act, Bank Secrecy Act, Federal Financial Institutions Examination Council etc.).
- Professional certification (i.e. CAMS, CFE).
- Self-motivated, deadline driven and able to work in an ever changing environment.
- Ability to utilize multiple bank systems concurrently.

Remote only in Dallas TX region.
