Compliance Officer, Finance & Banking

About the Role

Our client is looking for a meticulous and experienced Compliance Officer to join their team, operating remotely with primary engagement towards their Centurion operations. This position is crucial for ensuring the organization adheres to all relevant legal, regulatory, and internal policy requirements within the financial services industry. You will be responsible for developing, implementing, and monitoring compliance programs to mitigate risks and maintain the company's integrity.

This role demands a proactive approach to identifying potential compliance issues and implementing effective control measures in a fast-evolving regulatory landscape.

• Develop, implement, and maintain robust compliance policies and procedures.
• Conduct regular compliance audits and risk assessments to identify potential areas of non-compliance.
• Investigate potential compliance breaches and recommend corrective actions.
• Provide training and guidance to employees on compliance matters and regulatory requirements.
• Stay abreast of changes in relevant legislation and regulatory frameworks (e.g., FAIS, FICA, POPIA).
• Liaise with regulatory bodies and external auditors as required.

• Bachelor's degree in Law, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
• Minimum of 4 years of experience in a compliance or regulatory role within the financial services sector.
• In-depth knowledge of South African financial regulations and compliance best practices.
• Strong analytical and investigative skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
• Proficiency in compliance management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
