The Filing Division provides resources and services to enable the accurate filing of personal and business income tax returns and payments. We accomplish this by education and outreach, creating tax forms, offering self-service options, contact center services and processing. We also ensure taxpayer compliance through return and payment validation, noticing, and enforcement activities.
Please Note:
Anticipated start date for these positions will be February, 2027.
Tax Technicians in Filing Division are a part of teams that:
- Help ensure tax returns are filed accurately
- Promote self-compliance through education and collaboration
- Communicate with customers or their representatives through phone and correspondence contact channels
- Provide quality services that are easily accessible
- Identify and pursue taxpayers that fail to file tax returns
- Identify and pursue withholding agents that fail to withhold
- Utilize cutting edge contact center technology and best-practice methodologies
- Detect and prevent refund fraud and identity theft
- Verify California (CA) regulatory requirements are met before allowing a tax professional access to clients' accounts
- Provide exceptional training and tools
- Create a work culture that values employees and their contributions
Positions are currently available in the following sections:
Taxpayer Services Center Section; and
Correspondence, Analysis, Support, and Education Section
Additional positions may be available in:
Withholding Services & Compliance Section; and
Fraud, Analysis & Detection Section
Compliance, Analysis, and Validation Section
Appointment may become full-time.
Additional positions may become available (Various RPAs).

Working ConditionsThis position requires 4 or more days in the office per week. It is designated office-centered and may be eligible for some remote work based on departmental guidelines and operational need.
This position is not eligible for visa sponsorship. Applicants must be authorized to work in the US without the need for a visa sponsorship, now or in the future.
