The Canadian Air Transport Security Authority (CATSA) has 1exciting student opportunity from September 30, 2026 to December 31, 2026 within the Finance, Governance, and Strategic Services branch at CATSA Headquarters. This position has a hybrid work arrangement, with some work from home.

Student, Payroll, Benefits and Pension Administration

Number of positions: 1

Term:
September 30, 2026 to December 31, 2026

Schedule: 20 hours per week

Location:
Ottawa, HQ (Hybrid)

Salary range: $18.15 to $30.20/hourly rate dependent on level of education

Language requirement:
Bilingual

* Eligibility List: CATSA will use this opportunity to establish a list of candidates eligible to fill subsequent vacancies. The eligibility list may be used to staff other student positions with similar responsibilities and qualifications.

Summary of responsibilities:
  • Provide support in the areas of records management, data entry;
  • General payroll and pension administration
  • Collection and analysis of data
  • Support Payroll and Pension team in the development of special initiatives and projects;
  • Provide support to other areas of the Finance team, when required; and
  • Assist in the development and enhancement of Payroll and Pension programs and tools.
What you need to succeed:

To qualify for the position, you must have:

  • Enrolled in a college diploma or a university degree in accounting, finance, payroll or business administration with a specialization in payroll and finance
  • Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office suite;
  • Any knowledge around taxable benefits, government filings, or internal controls;
  • Previous experience in finance or accounting would be considered an asset;
Skills and abilities:
  • Strong communication skills both written and verbal;
  • Ability to conduct research, analyze and synthesis confidential information;
  • Ability to prioritize and multi-task;
  • Plan and organize work;
  • Strong client service orientation;
  • Meet tight deadlines in an efficient matter;
  • Tact, diplomacy and discretion.

To qualify and to be considered for this employment, you must:
  • Be eligible to obtain and maintain a reliability security clearance;
  • Be a full-time or part-time CEGEP, College or University student; and
  • Be returning to full-time or part-time studies in the next academic year.
