About the OpportunityRecruiting on behalf of one of our clients, a rapidly growing operator in the retirement home sector
, is seeking a hands-on Manager, FP&A This is an exciting opportunity to join a dynamic, growth-oriented organization where you will play a critical role in strengthening financial processes, improving reporting timelines, and supporting ongoing expansion.
Reporting directly to the VP Financial Services, you will take ownership of your own portfolio of long-term care facilities. You will be responsible for the strategic financial leadership and reporting oversight.
- Supports the finance team in the preparation of the monthly financial statements for presentation to the Vice President, Financial Services.
- Support the Vice President in the development of dashboards and KPI tools to monitor organizational performance.
- Review and prepare the variance analysis for the monthly income statements (budget vs actual).
- Work with the Systems & FP&A Analyst to identify trends, risks, and opportunities impacting financial performance.
- Provide actionable insights and recommendations to the Vice President, Financial Services.
- Support the annual budget process.
- Support internal and external audit requirements.
- Support the onboarding of new homes onto our financial and operational platforms.
- Review and validate financial data for accuracy and completeness.
- Ensure statutory, regulatory and internal reporting requirements are met.
- Provide guidance, mentorship and leadership to the Finance team, fostering professional growth and high performance.
- Must have experience working with Long-term care facilities
- 5-10+ years of hands-on accounting experience
- Experience with month-end close and financial reporting
- CPA designation is not required
- Strong financial reporting and reconciliation skills
- Experience preparing and analysing budgets
- Comfortable working with accounting systems (e.g., Sage, Quick Books, similar)
- Detail-oriented with a high degree of accuracy
- Able to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
- Comfortable working in a growing, fast-paced environment
- Primarily in‑office role (4–5 days/week)
- Flexibility for occasional remote work (e.g., month-end deadlines)
