Position Summary
The position oversees purchasing and billing processes for the Institute for Cyber Enabled Research (ICER) and related units, including software, hardware, and storage acquisitions. Responsibilities also include managing fee-for-service billing, reconciling accounts, maintaining enterprise financial systems, and supporting pricing assessments. Additional duties involve generating reports, coordinating resources, and performing general office tasks.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Billing – 30%: Administer direct billing for units utilizing fee-for-service models (ICER, HPCC, Bioinformatics Core). Process billing for storage usage, renewals, adjustments, and cluster services. Assist with evaluating fee-for-service models and updating pricing based on university fiscal changes.
- Purchasing – 25%:Manage renewals and procurement of software for ICER’s High-Performance Computing Center (HPCC). Oversee hardware, equipment, and storage space purchases, including tracking usage.
- Account Ledgers – 25%: Locate and document source expenditures in Enterprise Business Systems (EBS). Reconcile unit expenses, including research costs, travel, and supplies. Maintain accurate records in Kuali Financial System (KFS) and track all billing activities.
- General Office Duties – 20%: Prepare ad hoc financial reports. Order office supplies and submit service requests. Oversee room reservations and perform other administrative tasks as assigned.
This is a hybrid role. Weekly meetings at the East Lansing campus are required.
Minimum RequirementsKnowledge equivalent to that which normally would be acquired by completing a four-year degree program in accounting or finance with relevant course work in business administration; six months to one year of related and progressively more responsible or expansive work experience in accounting, auditing or financial analysis; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
