Duties and Responsibilities
The FX Operations Analyst 3 provides guidance and decision support for complex foreign exchange transactions and operational inquiries. The role proactively identifies, investigates, and resolves transactional, procedural, and client-impacting issues while serving as a key escalation point for FX Operations.
Acts as a subject matter expert for complex multi-currency loan transactions, including funding events, principal repayments, interest payments, restructures, and amendments involving foreign currency exposures.
Coordinates and resolves operational issues related to FX syndicated loan settlements, partnering with Loan Operations, Syndications, Relationship Managers, Agent Banks, and external counter parties to ensure timely and accurate execution.
Reviews and validates FX rate application, currency conversions, settlement instructions, and funding calculations associated with syndicated and bilateral foreign currency loan activity.
Investigates and resolves exceptions impacting multi-currency loan settlements, including payment failures, funding discrepancies, account instruction issues, and currency-related processing breaks.
Serves as a primary escalation point for complex FX operational issues, client inquiries, trade exceptions, and process-related concerns.
Investigates and resolves trade discrepancies, settlement-related inquiries, client complaints, and operational exceptions in a timely manner.
Partners with internal stakeholders, including Sales, Treasury Management, Operations, Risk, Compliance, Technology, and Relationship Management teams, to drive issue resolution and improve the client experience.
Performs detailed analysis of foreign exchange transactions, including structured and multi-currency trades, to identify root causes and recommend corrective actions.
Monitors and manages operational queues, ensuring escalated items are appropriately prioritized, documented, and resolved within established service levels.
Identifies emerging trends, recurring issues, and process gaps, escalating concerns and recommendations to management as appropriate.
Collaborates with OFAC, Compliance, Legal, and Risk partners to address sanctions screening issues, regulatory inquiries, and exception requests.
Supports internal and external audits by providing documentation, responding to inquiries, and participating in control testing activities.
Develops, maintains, and enhances procedures, job aids, and training materials to support operational consistency and risk mitigation.
Provides mentorship and guidance to team members, including onboarding support, quality reviews, and knowledge-sharing activities.
Participates in high-profile initiatives, strategic projects, system implementations, and process improvement efforts impacting FX Operations.
Engages directly with clients, vendors, and internal business partners to manage complex inquiries and ensure effective resolution of escalated issues.
Identifies opportunities to improve controls, enhance operational efficiency, and reduce risk through process standardization and automation.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Basic QualificationsBachelor’s Degree
3 years of related experience in Foreign Exchange Operations or Capital Markets Operations
