The Lewis & Ellis Summer 2027 Internship offers a chance to explore the actuarial field with hands-on experience in insurance, statistics, and real-world projects.

Pay

$20-25/hour

You Will
  • Participate in a 3-week intensive training program at the start of the internship, designed for both experienced and non-experienced candidates.
  • Work on a real actuarial project, primarily focused on a government contract, providing you with significant real-world impact.
  • Gain hands-on experience in insurance statistics and data analysis.
  • Collaborate with experienced actuaries on meaningful work.
  • Receive feedback and mentorship to develop your professional skills.
  • Contribute to the success of a high-impact project. If the summer project is finished early, you may have the opportunity to work on other projects.
Essential Requirements
  • You are currently pursuing or have already obtained a Bachelor's degree in any field.
    • No actuarial examinations required, but a 'nice to have'.
  • You need a minimum GPA of 2.5 or a "Pass" in a Pass/Fail system.
  • You must be a U.S. citizen or a foreign national who has lived in the U.S. for at least 3 years. You also need authorization to work in the U.S.
  • You should be quick to learn and adapt. Proficiency in spreadsheets is important. You need to be a team player with strong attention to detail and good communication skills.
  • The internship starts on May 17, 2027. You will complete a 3-week intensive training program. The internship runs through early August 2027. You need to be able to work in our Plano, TX office or remotely if you are not local. Due to the intensive nature of the training program, any late starts will not be accepted.
    • Due to the nature of the program, extended vacations or breaks are not permitted.
Pay Benefits & Perks
  • The hourly rate is $20-$25 per hour.
  • You will receive 3 weeks of paid training at the beginning of the internship.
  • This is a remote position. You have the option to work from our Dallas, TX office if you prefer, but this is not required nor supported with transportation or housing.
  • There may be opportunities for employment at the end of the internship.
  • If the summer project is finished early, there may be opportunities to work on other projects.
