This is a full-time Loan Officer role based in the Detroit Metropolitan Area, structured as a hybrid position with a mix of on-site and work-from-home responsibilities. The Loan Officer will consult with borrowers to assess their financial profiles, explain loan products, and recommend suitable mortgage solutions. Daily activities include originating and processing loan applications, gathering and reviewing documentation, coordinating with underwriting, and ensuring loans meet regulatory and company guidelines.
The role involves delivering high-quality customer service, maintaining communication throughout the loan cycle, and using online tools and calculators to help clients evaluate options. The Loan Officer will also build and manage a pipeline of prospects, develop referral relationships, and stay informed about current market conditions and mortgage products.
- Demonstrated experience in loan officer or mortgage lending roles, with a solid understanding of Loan Origination processes.
- Strong foundation in Finance, including ability to analyze income, assets, credit reports, and debt-to-income ratios.
- Knowledge of Underwriting standards and risk assessment, and ability to prepare complete, accurate loan files.
- Proven Customer Service skills, including clear communication, active listening, and a client-focused approach.
- Familiarity with mortgage regulations, compliance requirements, and NMLS registration; valid mortgage license for Michigan or eligibility to obtain one.
- Comfort with digital tools, loan origination systems, and secure online applications; proficiency with standard office software.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage multiple files and deadlines in a hybrid work environment.
- High level of integrity, attention to detail, and professional judgment; ability to work both independently and collaboratively with team members and referral partners.
- Associate or bachelor's degree in business, finance, or a related field preferred; prior experience in real estate, banking, or financial services is an advantage.
