Consumer Loan Originator

• Originate consumer loan applications by phone
• Manage loan-by-phone questions with a focus on member service
• Maintain in-depth knowledge of consumer loan options, including personal, share-secured, auto, boat, recreational vehicle, business visa, and equity loans
• Obtain and analyze credit reports to determine debt-to-income ratios and creditworthiness
• Originate equity loans and identify and refer first-mortgage opportunities
• Process and fund applicable loan applications, including personal and share-secured loans
• Provide exceptional handoffs to consumer loan officers for further processing of approved applications
• Act as a relationship manager between Consumer Underwriting, Consumer Lending Servicing, Retail Branches, and Equity Servicing
• Perform queue management tasks throughout the day
• Complete service calls and outbound efforts
• Conduct follow-up communications with new and existing members by phone or electronically
• Identify opportunities to strengthen member relationships
• Make business partner referrals and conduct outbound sales on targeted member opportunities
• Promote behaviors consistent with brand guidelines to become members' lender of choice
• Perform other job-related duties as assigned

• High School diploma or general education degree (GED)
• One (1) year experience in a financial institution with consumer lending experience
• Knowledge of computers and standard Windows software applications
• Ability to type 45 words per minute
• Ability to perform 10-key accurately
• Ability to read, write, speak, and use proper grammar in English
• Must register as an MLO
• MLO registration with the Nationwide Mortgage Licensing System (NMLS), including electronic application, fingerprint submission for FBI criminal background check, and clearance from Arizona Federal
• Annual renewal of MLO registration and updates to registration information as needed
• Ability to communicate in person, by telephone, and through written business correspondence
• Ability to interpret and analyze written reports, instructions, correspondence, and procedure manuals
• Ability to speak effectively to members regarding sensitive inquiries or complaints
• Ability to perform basic arithmetic and calculate rates, ratios, and percentages
• Ability to make decisions based on training, common sense, and guidelines
• Occasionally stand, walk, stoop, kneel, or crouch; frequently sit; regularly use computer keyboards and calculators
• Occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds
• Close vision and ability to adjust focus
• Employees working from home must have business operational internet and a dedicated workspace

Demonstrates expertise in consumer lending processes, including loan origination and member relationship management. Proficient in analyzing credit reports and maintaining compliance with MLO registration requirements.
