This Job
The Commerce Bank Audit Intern will gain valuable on the job audit experience working with a strong and effective audit team in a collaborative environment. The intern will learn auditing techniques from experienced auditors and perform testing across a variety of projects and audits. The intern will provide assurance on the effectiveness of control processes and make suggestions to improve operational efficiencies.
The intern will interact with senior management across the Bank while becoming engrained in the Commerce culture. The intern will get exposed to Information Technology, Cybersecurity, and Data Analysis processes within the bank and utilized by the Audit Department. The summer internship session will begin on Tuesday, May 18, 2027, and will run for 11 weeks, ending on Friday, July 30, 2027.
Internships are paid, full-time opportunities with a Monday through Friday work schedule. Hourly: $20.00 - $20.00 (Amount based on relevant experience, skills, and competencies.)
- Primarily work with the IT Audit team and SOX testing teams
- Rotate and gain experience with the audit teams at Commerce, including Financial/Operational Audit, Compliance Audit, Branch Audit, and Data Analytics
- Work with audit team members to analyze and evaluate controls, processes, and procedures
- Perform independent testing within a variety of internal audits as assigned by the audit in-charge
- Interact with business line personnel and management
- Assist with special projects
- Perform other duties as assigned
Monday-Friday flexible hours Hybrid schedule of both in office and work from home Days in office can be determined rid schedule: in office 3 days per week.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities- Effectively document audit work performed
- Aptitude for technology related topics
- Ability to work on a team, provide status updates and ask questions
- Motivated and organized self-starter with strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities
- Inquisitive, agile and strong team player with excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills

Undergraduate or graduate students pursuing a degree in Business Administration, Management Information Systems or related field.
