Director of Finance; Remote

As a Director of Finance, you will play an integral role as finance lead on multiple client engagements across industries including consumer, SaaS, technology, and business services. We are looking for individuals who learned their finance chops at a public accounting firm or bulge-bracket investment bank and honed them at a growing company. We want candidates who love Excel modeling, embrace automation (including AI), and understand balance sheets.

The ideal candidate is a self-proclaimed perfectionist who has a passion for working cross-functionally with internal and client teams.

You’ll work extensively with our growing finance and accounting team (we’re actually a lot of fun). You’ll also have plenty of opportunities to work with senior leaders at Karlon Group and at our clients.

• Participate in, and often lead, activities related to finance for clients, including building models from scratch, actualizing models, creating financial reporting outputs, and creating financial dashboards.
• Own client models, including three-statement operating models, financing models, and more.
• Work collaboratively with internal and client accounting teams to prepare monthly financial statements and financial reporting packages for executive review.
• Work collaboratively with internal and client teams to gain a deep understanding of the story behind the numbers.
• Work collaboratively with internal and client management teams to prepare board slides and board-ready outputs.
• Serve as a finance resource to departmental teams on mission-critical projects, forecasting efforts, and other requests.
• Assist in the development, implementation, and documentation of new process workflows, incorporating automation and AI where possible.

• Participate in the recruiting process via prospecting, interviewing, and candidate selection.
• Partner with colleagues across the company and on client teams to implement and integrate new processes.
• Join internal task forces focused on key business priorities.
• Serve as a mentor to future finance team members.

• Experience across corporate finance, forecasting, and budgeting. Strong accounting skills and an interest in learning more about accounting.
• Expert in Excel modeling, with experience using Google Sheets.
• 2+ years of top-tier public accounting or investment banking experience.
• 3+ years of operational "industry" experience. Experience at mid- or late-stage startups is preferred.
• Ability to communicate financial topics to non-finance professionals.
• Experience working in cross-functional teams.
• Experience with the accounting close process from a finance perspective.
• ERP experience- for example, Quick Books, Fulfill.io, Net Suite, Oracle, or SAP.

This is a full-time, fully remote W-2 position open to candidates throughout the United States. The base salary range is $160,000-$170,000, with a target annual bonus equal to 20% of base salary.

Team members generally work during their local business hours while collaborating with colleagues and clients across time zones. Travel is minimal and includes attendance at Karlon Group's required annual company offsite.
