Alix Partners seeks an exceptional Director to join its Risk Advisory practice, leading complex financial crimes investigations and advising clients on fraud risk, compliance, and institutional integrity. This role is suited for a senior leader who combines deep expertise—gained through a combination of in-house financial services risk and compliance roles (including at digital asset platforms), consulting experience, and/or federal law enforcement experience with the ability to deliver clear, actionable recommendations to executive and legal audiences.

The ideal candidate brings a distinguished track mitigating risk related to money laundering, OFAC/sanctions, securities fraud, ACH and digital-asset fraud, and cyber-enabled financial crime, alongside demonstrated experience building and leading multidisciplinary teams.

• Lead BSA/AML, OFAC, and FCPA risk assessments and compliance program implementations for financial institutions, fintech companies, and digital-asset businesses; develop and validate corrective-action plans under regulatory agreements.
• Take on interim Chief Compliance Officer, BSA Officer, Chief Risk Officer roles (or equivalent) for clients.
• Lead complex domestic and cross-border investigations involving financial fraud, securities misconduct, insider trading, market manipulation, money laundering, asset misappropriation, corruption, identity theft, account takeover, ACH fraud, digital-asset fraud, and other forms of platform or enterprise abuse.
• Apply blockchain analytics, transaction tracing, trading analysis, digital forensics, open-source intelligence (OSINT), and large-dataset analysis to identify patterns, trace funds, assess exposure, and support defensible conclusions.
• Leverage blockchain forensics platforms (e.g., Chainalysis, TRM Labs, Elliptic) and commercial databases (Accurint, PACER) to distill complex financial data into clear visualizations and litigation‑ready exhibits.
• Engage effectively with regulators, law‑enforcement agencies (FBI, IRS-CI, USSS, DEA, FinCEN, SEC, DOJ), prosecutors, industry associations, and external counsel—including preparing clear investigative reports, presentations, and supporting materials.
• Lead multidisciplinary teams of investigators, forensic accountants, data analysts, cybersecurity specialists, and subject‑matter experts; coach team members, review work product, and deliver performance evaluations.
• Represent Alix Partners at industry events and contribute to practice development through thought leadership, white papers, CLE presentations, relationship building, and identification of new engagement opportunities.
