Financial Planning & Analysis - AVP

Job Description:

We are seeking a skilled AVP to support Banking FP&A to play a key role in Financial Planning, Budgeting, Forecasting and Management Reporting for the Bank’s US Operations in the Investment and Corporate Banking (Banking) LOB. This role requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, the ability to collaborate across multiple business partners and other teams in Finance and align with both local and head office (Japan) data and regulatory requirements.

The ideal candidate should have experience in the banking industry, with exposure to multi- entity reporting structure, data hierarchies and should be proficient in working and extracting information from multiple Database systems. This role requires both business and technical expertise, a meticulous approach to data accuracy, and the ability to look for opportunities to enhance or transform current processes.

Key Responsibilities:

Prepare presentations and reports to senior management on a weekly/monthly/annual basis, including financial analytics, business revenues and cost drivers and ad hoc reviews

Maintain data reporting standards and integrity for Banking LOB as per HO (Japan) requirements

Develop detailed budget vs actual variance reports to drive high quality decision-making and closely monitor Banking LOB performance

Enhance reporting and budgeting process with a focus on streamlining financial data production while attending to HO (Japan) requests

Liaise with counterparts across Finance, back office and front office to identify and support trends in Banking LOB revenues, expenses, assets and KPIs.Maintain reporting hierarchies and mappings to ensure data integrity across various systems for Banking LOBMonitor and support monthly allocation and inter entity/company reconciliations

Assist in planning and execution of various cross-functional projects like revenue forecasting and expense productivity initiatives

Basic Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in finance/accounting or business relevant majors (CPA/CFA preferred)3+ years of experience in financial/bank services industry with 2+ years of specific roles in business planning, budgeting and financial analysis required

Proficiency in Excel and PPT and ERP tools such as Hyperion, Anaplan, People Soft and One Stream Ability  to articulate thoughts and communicate in a clear and concise manner, across all levels in the organization

Capacity to multi-task and deal with shifting priorities, while always maintaining focus on delivering timely information to management or other key stakeholders.

Strong understanding of Banking products and their revenue/ expense relationship

Excellent understanding of Organization Hierarchy and Income Statement structures in multiple dimensions:
Business line, Entities, Cost Centers etc.

Excellent problem-solving and communications skills and attention to detail

Preferred Qualifications:

Familiarity with US GAAP and/or IFRSKnowledge of Business and General Ledger concepts (profit/cost center, trade books, revenues and expenses, inter-entity transfers) at an investment bank or a financial services company

The expected base salary ranges from $93,000 - $150,000. Salary offers are based on a wide range of factors including relevant skills, training, experience, education, and, where applicable, certifications and licenses obtained. Market and organizational factors are also considered. In addition to salary and a generous employee benefits package, including Medical, Dental and 401K plans, successful candidates are also eligible to receive a discretionary bonus.#LI-Hybrid
