Mortgage Loan Officer; Tidewater Market, VA​/Remote

Atlantic Union Bank is hiring Mortgage Loan Officers focusing on the Tidewater Market, VA. Branch locations include Virginia Beach, Hampton Roads, Chesapeake, and Norfolk.

Originates and completes mortgage loan applications, submits loan files to processing, and provides the highest level of customer service. Designs and implements a comprehensive business plan to increase sales and build relationships with referral sources.

• Completes telephone, mail‑away, and face‑to‑face loan applications with clients and approves loan disclosures for distribution.
• Ensures all required fields, including third‑party information, are completed prior to approval.
• Determines proper program placement of a loan file (e.g., FHA, VA, Conventional, USDA).
• Prices loans and locks rates in accordance with company policy.
• Reviews returned applications and documentation for completeness, accuracy, and compliance.
• Runs AUS and reviews findings and required documentation.
• Prepares requested pre‑qualifications per company policy, orders credit reports, appraisals, and title requests, and conducts regular follow‑ups with clients and referral sources.
• Maintains regular communication with applicants throughout the processing period, assisting them with questions and notifying them of any additional information required.
• Submits loan files within stated turn times and works in conjunction with assigned processors.
• Maintains a pipeline of all loans in process, tracking progress and meeting all contractual deadlines.
• Assists all parties, including processors, during the entire process.
• Meets or exceeds minimum production requirements.
• Attends all settlements when possible.
• Completes an annual business plan and meets regularly with the sales manager.
• Keeps informed of trends and developments in the local real estate market and competitive environment, as well as changes in rules and regulations pertaining to private and government‑insured mortgages.
• Maintains a professional image and standards consistent with company policies and procedures.

Reports to the Sales Manager/Branch Manager.

• Minimum of 2 years of loan officer experience; industry equivalent may be considered by the Sales Manager or Branch Manager.
• NMLS registration required.

• Proven ability to read, write, and communicate at a level consistent with the position's requirements.
• Ability to generate independent leads for new business and professionally communicate with existing and past clients.
• Working knowledge of standard loan products in the industry and strong familiarity with underwriting guidelines.
