Position OverviewThe Government Affairs Policy Analyst will support Kiewit’s Government Affairs department by coordinating administrative functions and conducting research on policy, political, and regulatory issues that impact the organization. This entry‑level role works closely with business partners across multiple units to assist with communications, reporting, planning, and public‑facing community affairs efforts. The position also helps track key issues, prepare internal updates, support business development communications, and collaborate with external consultants and agencies.

LocationThis role is located at our downtown Omaha, NE Kiewit Headquarters office. This position requires regular in‑office attendance. Relocation may be provided for this role.
Responsibilities- The Government Affairs Policy Analyst is responsible for supporting Kiewit’s Government Affairs Department. This is an entry-level position.
- In addition to administrative tasks, this person will work closely with partners across the company’s business units to research and report on policy, political, and regulatory issues affecting the company.
- A successful candidate must be a strong researcher, writer, and communicator; a fast learner; adept at managing multiple responsibilities and priorities; and able to collaborate effectively with business partners at all levels.
- Experience in government affairs and/or marketing and communications, along with basic project management skills, is important. Kiewit requires high attention to detail and strong time management skills to consistently meet deadlines.
- This role reports to the Director of Government and Community Affairs and is based in Omaha, Nebraska. Relocation may be provided.
- Support the Government and Community Affairs team with invoicing, billing, accounting, reporting, planning, travel, meetings, communications research.
- Understand key issues that could directly or indirectly impact Kiewit’s operations by anticipating and preparing communication strategies and materials.
- Partner with key functions to help ensure the company effectively influences and works with those shaping local, state, and national policies.
- Support community affairs efforts associated with client and project public information activities.
- Conduct research and use key metrics to regularly assess the effectiveness of government and community affairs efforts.
- Ensure consistent communication of government affairs updates to internal stakeholders.
- Support business development teams across the company’s operating districts to enhance external communication efforts.
- Work with government and community affairs consultants and agencies.
- A bachelor’s degree is required (business administration, political science, journalism, marketing communications, or a related field strongly preferred).
- Experience in politics, government, policy, or regulatory matters is essential.
