Join us in our essential mission of disaster management and preparedness by supporting the PEMA Grants Management Team.
In this role, you will utilize your exceptional organizational skills to manage the planning, coordination, and administration of federal funds allocated to PEMA through the U.S. Department of Homeland Security's Hazard Mitigation Grant Program, as well as other related disaster and non-disaster funding grants. You will assist the Bureau of Grant Management in overseeing agency grant programs, analyzing administrative processes, identifying challenges, and proposing policy and procedural improvements.
Additionally, you will develop policies and guidelines that align with federal and state regulations for the effective administration of various grant programs, which provide financial support to local governments and other designated entities. Your role will also involve reviewing and assessing the eligibility of applications for financial assistance related to these grant programs, coordinating necessary revisions, and conducting regular evaluations of program activities to ensure compliance with state and federal objectives and guidelines.

- Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
- In the event of an emergency/disaster situation or training exercise, this position may be required to travel, work up to 12-hour shifts, and work outside of the normal work hours, including weekends and overnights.
- Telework:
You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time, upon successful completion of a training period. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Harrisburg. The ability to telework is subject to change at any time.

Selected candidates who are new to employment with the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin employment at the starting annual salary of $51,971 (before taxes). - You will receive further communication regarding this position via email.
- Two years of experience in varied office management or staff work; and bachelor's degree; or
- Any equivalent combination of experience and training.
- You must meet the PA residency requirement.
