Investment Officer

Classification: INVESTMENT OFFICER I, PUBLIC EMPLOYE' S RETIREMENT SYSTEMS

This position is eligible for a Charter Financial Analyst (CFA) pay differential. Permanent full-time employees who possess certification as a CFA may receive a 5% monthly base pay differential.

New to State candidates will be hired into the minimum salary of the classification or minimum of alternate range when applicable.

Our Investment Office Relations unit is currently seeking an Investment Officer I to provide analysis and support for internal and external communications strategies and initiatives, and drive our CalPERS mission.

Duties Include, But Are Not Limited To:

• Draft written investment reports and presentations for delivery by Investment Office (INVO) Executive staff to CalPERS board members, stakeholders, media, public, and to INVO team members.
• Support INVO’s strategic and business planning efforts by collecting updates from INVO team members on key initiatives, tracking progress against strategic priorities, and assisting with the development of related reports, dashboards, and presentation materials for INVO leadership, enterprise partners, Board of Administration, and stakeholders.
• Act as a liaison between the Public Affairs Office and INVO’s subject matter experts to support the management of media relations relating to the CalPERS investment program.

Telework Information: This position is eligible for a hybrid work schedule, with up to two days of remote work and three days or more onsite, per week.

Effective July 1, 2025, the California Department of Human Resources (CalHR) implemented the Personal Leave Program 2025 (PLP 2025). PLP 2025 directs that each employee shall receive a 3 percent reduction in pay in exchange for 5 hours of PLP 2025 leave credits, monthly. The salary range(s) included in this job advertisement do not reflect the 3 percent reduction in pay.
