DESCRIPTIONOF WORK
In this position, you will develop and monitor education and outreach activities to bring greater public awareness to services available for pregnant, postpartum, and breastfeeding women, as well as infants and children under the age of five. Your work will involve developing statewide marketing and communications tasks, developing grant proposals, and securing contractor bids. You will conduct periodic needs assessments, determine appropriate target populations and messages, identify the most feasible marketing strategy to reach program goals.
Some of your duties will also include providing technical assistance to contractors through on-site visits and phone calls, communicating with a wide variety of agencies at conferences and meetings, and coordinating plans for professional and public education regarding the WIC Program. Additionally, you will serve as the gatekeeper for public notices, press releases, and other promotional or information materials to be publicly released.
Schedule and Additional Information
- Full-time employment
- Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday – Friday, with a 60‑minute lunch.
- Telework:
You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part‑time. To telework, you must have a securely configured high‑speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Harrisburg. The ability to telework is subject to change at any time.

- One year as a Public Health Program Associate 2 (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); OR
- A bachelor’s degree and two years of professional experience in the development, analysis, or monitoring of programs, grants, or contracts in health, human services, social or behavioral services, health care services, or health insurance; OR
- An equivalent combination of experience and training.
- PA residency requirement is currently waived for this title.
- You must be able to perform essential job functions.
