Job Summary
Under the direction of the Federal Affairs leadership, the Government Affairs Analyst (“Analyst”) will work with key external federal stakeholders on Federal matters impacting the business, exercising proactive initiative and independent judgement. The Analyst will collaborate with the business to develop policy positions in support of advocacy efforts with key stakeholders outside the organization. The Analyst will review, analyze, summarize, and distribute to other departments federal initiatives that may impact the Enterprise.
The Analyst will support leadership in the development of thought leadership initiatives to address emerging federal health policy issues, and will engage with business leaders to manage company initiatives related to Federal legislative and regulatory issues.
- Work with Federal Affairs leadership, trade associations and other stakeholders to advance organizational priorities.
- Establish expertise in emerging health policy issues by attending health policy knowledge events relative to the Enterprise.
- Apply a strategic lens to identify critical elements to elevate to leadership.
- Track, analyze, summarize, and communicate relevant Federal legislation and regulations using strong expertise in existing legal statutes.
- Articulate guidance in a manner that can be understood and utilized by business and senior leaders.
- Identify potential operational and policy impacts with the business and Government Affairs leadership.
- Provide technical support to departments regarding current, proposed and newly promulgated Federal guidance, including acting as a subject matter expert in support of implementation activities related to newly enacted Federal legislation and regulations.
- Complete other projects and duties as assigned.
- Frequent contact with external federal stakeholders and/or internal business leaders requiring excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to facilitate policy discussions with stakeholders at varied levels and build consensus.
- Demonstrated organizational and interpersonal skills, maintaining a high degree of professionalism in all situations.
- Proactive and highly organized; able to work independently and manage multiple activities simultaneously.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Word and other computer skills.
- Education:
J.D. strongly preferred;
Bachelor’s Degree required. Health care and/or public policy degree strongly preferred. - Experience:
Minimum of five years’ work experience requiring independent judgment and initiative. Previous experience in a managed care setting and/or regulatory environment preferred. Experience with Medicare and/or Medicaid preferred.
Must adhere to company and departmental policies and procedures, and regulatory and compliance standards. Must be able to work under normal office conditions and work from home as required. Work may require simultaneous use of a telephone/headset and PC/keyboard and sitting for extended durations. May be required to work additional hours beyond the standard work schedule.
Salary Range$68,008.38 – $ annual base salary.

The actual salary for this position will be determined by factors including scope and complexity of the role, skills, education, training, credentials, and experience of the candidate, as well as internal equity.
