About AudubonThe National Audubon Society is a leading nonprofit conservation organization with 120 years of science-based, community-driven impact, dedicated to protecting birds and the places they need, today and tomorrow. Birds are powerful indicators of our planet's health, acting as sentinels that warn us of environmental change and inspire action. Audubon works across the Western Hemisphere, driven by the understanding that what is good for birds is good for the planet.
Through a collaborative, bipartisan approach across habitats, borders, and the political spectrum, Audubon drives meaningful and lasting conservation outcomes. With 800 staff and over 1.9 million supporters, Audubon is a dynamic and ever-growing force committed to ensuring a better planet for both birds and people for generations to come.
Reporting to the Senior Director of Climate Strategies, the Senior Manager, Clean Energy Infrastructure Policy will be a key member of the national Climate Team. The Senior Manager will work in close partnership with state/regional policy staff to foster high-impact state policies that support the organization’s clean energy infrastructure goals, specifically influencing the rapid and responsible onboarding of utility‑scale wind and solar projects and the modernized and expanded transmission grid the clean energy transition requires.
The Senior Manager will be responsible for developing and implementing robust elements of this policy agenda, identifying opportunities, and helping build collaboration in key states. This role will provide critical policy research, analysis, writing and strategic guidance while adding capacity at the respective state level. The Senior Manager will work closely with the Senior Director to provide guidance and helpful tools to distribute across Audubon’s network, including background materials for consultants and other relevant content for internal communications.
