Job Summary
Under the direction of the Federal Affairs leadership, the Government Affairs Analyst (“Analyst”) will work with key external federal stakeholders on Federal matters impacting the business. The Analyst will review, analyze, summarize, and distribute federal initiatives that may impact the Enterprise, support leadership in developing thought leadership initiatives, and collaborate with the business to develop policy positions in support of advocacy efforts.
The Analyst must independently own and manage the analysis of proposed and final regulations, engage with business leaders to maintain company initiatives related to Federal legislative and regulatory issues, and provide technical support to departments regarding current and proposed Federal guidance.
- Work with Federal Affairs leadership, trade associations and other stakeholders to advance organizational priorities.
- Establish expertise in emerging health policy issues by attending health policy knowledge events relative to the Enterprise and applying a strategic lens to identify critical elements for escalation to leadership.
- Track, analyze, summarize, and communicate relevant Federal legislation and regulations; articulate guidance so it can be understood by business and senior leaders.
- Provide technical support to departments regarding current, proposed and newly promulgated Federal guidance, including acting as a subject matter expert in support of implementation activities.
- Complete other projects and duties as assigned.
Education, Certification and Licensure
- J.D. strongly preferred.
- Bachelor’s Degree required.
- Health care and/or public policy degree strongly preferred.
Experience (minimum Years Required)
- Minimum of five years’ work experience in a position requiring independent judgment and initiative.
- Previous experience in a managed care setting and/or regulatory environment preferred.
- Experience with Medicare and/or Medicaid preferred.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to facilitate policy discussions with stakeholders at varied levels and build consensus.
- Demonstrated organizational and interpersonal skills.
- High degree of professionalism in all situations.
- Proactive, highly organized, and able to manage multiple activities simultaneously.
- Ability to work both independently and cooperatively as a team member.
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Word and other computer skills.
- Adherence to company and departmental policies and procedures, and regulatory and compliance standards.
- Work from home as required under normal office conditions.
- Use of telephone/headset and PC/keyboard simultaneously while sitting for extended durations.
- May require additional hours beyond the standard work schedule.
Salary Range: $68,008.38 - $
