LCB Licensing Technician

The Pennsylvania Liquor Control Board (LCB) is seeking a Licensing Technician 1 to review, process, and approve renewal applications for liquor licenses and permits in the Bureau of Licensing, Licensing Evaluation Division. The role requires strong attention to detail, effective verbal and written communication skills, and ensures efficient and dependable operations.

• Process applications: examine supporting documentation and fees for various license and permit renewals, determine eligibility, re‑examine corrected submissions, make determinations, and process cases to final conclusion.
• Review legal documents: analyze applicants’ supporting documents—including leases, court orders, sales agreements—and assess their impact on eligibility.
• Examine records: research relevant files and reports for complaints, citations, convictions, and other factors that affect potential eligibility.
• Assist applicants: answer inquiries from applicants, licensees, attorneys, legislators, agency staff, and the public via phone, email, and in person regarding application status and problem resolution.
• Write correspondence: summarize discrepancies, prepare formal correspondence to applicants, and produce summaries of complex cases for referral to management or higher‑level review.

• Full‑time employment.
• Work hours:
  
  7:30 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday through Friday, with a 60‑minute lunch; hours may be negotiable.
• Telework: opportunity to work from home part‑time, up to four days per week, subject to the requirement for a securely configured high‑speed internet connection and an approved Pennsylvania location.
• Salary: starting salary may be non‑negotiable in some cases.

Minimum experience and training:

• Three years of clerical experience supporting a legal, licensing, or other regulatory program requiring application of statutes, program policies, or industry regulations, and graduation from high school; or an equivalent combination of experience and training.
• Must meet Pennsylvania residency requirements.
• Must be able to perform essential job functions.

• Must pass a background investigation. Applicants with a felony conviction within the last ten years are not permitted to work for the LCB; other criminal convictions will be reviewed on a case‑by‑case basis.
