Description

Provide specialized professional support related to water resource management issues that intersect with federal, interstate, and/or water information policy, projects, and programs. This hybrid position is primarily performed from a home office, with occasional travel to Denver, CO.

Responsibilities
  • Conduct and oversee contracts for highly technical work in water resource engineering and management.
  • Review and evaluate studies conducted by others.
  • Represent the Board, the Director, and the Interstate, Federal, and Water Information Section as directed.
  • Make recommendations to supervisor, Director, and Board on water resource issues and develop memos and presentations.
  • Manage projects and programs on behalf of the Section.
  • Coordinate with Section staff on technical, policy, and engineering work.
  • Support administrative and technical work for the Section Chief, as directed.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Six (6) years of professional experience in water resources, natural resources, engineering, hydrology and hydraulics, program management, data science or related field.
  • OR a combination of education and experience equivalent to six (6) years (four years for a bachelor's, two for a master's, one for a doctorate).
Preferred Qualifications
  • Current or former State experience relevant to this position.
  • Project and/or program management abilities.
  • Experience with data reporting and visualization.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Work experience with Colorado state agencies and/or federal agencies.
  • Familiarity with state and federal grants.
  • Experience with a board of directors and government leadership.
  • Public speaking and presentation experience.
  • Customer service experience with stakeholders.
  • Proficiency with Google Suite and database applications.
  • Familiarity with the CWCB and its program areas.
Conditions of Employment
  • Colorado residency is required at the time of application.
  • Former State employees must have concluded employment in good standing to be eligible for rehire.
  • A current valid driver's license is required for occasional travel.
  • The candidate must pass a background check.
  • Ability to occasionally exert up to 20 lbs. of force.
