Position Overview
Professional Conduct Investigator Supervisor. Apply for this position with the Bureau of Enforcement and Investigation’s Pittsburgh Regional Office. The role will oversee other investigators, conduct the most complex investigations, and lead in holding yourself, your staff, and Commonwealth professionals accountable to the people.
Description of Work- Staff Oversight:
Distribute and monitor work assignments to ensure effective utilization of staff; provide supervisory guidance to investigators in the development and execution of investigative plans. - Work Evaluation:
Assess employees’ reports, conduct, and related documents to ensure work is performed in compliance with operational policies and procedures. - Administrative Duties:
Train staff, interview and recommend prospective employees, initiate or recommend appropriate corrective action for employee misconduct, and approve or disapprove travel expense vouchers, leave, and overtime requests. - Policy Interpretation:
Accurately interpret and thoroughly know all applicable rules, regulations, rights, obligations, and procedures. - Investigative Leadership:
Uphold the principles and methods of investigation, interviewing practices and techniques, and principles of evidence you will use and lead in this position. - Formal Communication:
Testify at hearings, communicate with internal offices and the general public, and coordinate with other law enforcement agencies statewide.
- Full‑time employment.
- Work hours are 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM, Monday – Friday, with a 60‑minute lunch break.
- Telework:
Opportunity to work from home part‑time under specified conditions. Telework is subject to change. - Salary:

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements
- One year as a Professional Conduct Investigator† 2 (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration).
- Eight years of investigative experience involving the development and presentation of evidence regarding violations or alleged violations of rules and regulations, including two years of supervisory experience.
- Four years of investigative experience involving the development and presentation of evidence regarding violations or alleged violations of rules and regulations, including two years of supervisory experience and a bachelor’s degree.
- An equivalent combination of experience and training that includes four years of investigative experience involving the development and presentation of evidence regarding violations or alleged violations of rules and regulations, including two years of supervisory experience.
Other Requirements
- Possession of a valid driver’s license that is not under suspension.
- Meeting the PA residency requirement.
- Ability to perform essential job functions.
