THE POSITION
In this Administrative Officer 2 position with the Lieutenant Governor's Office, Board of Pardons, you will contribute to a team that reviews criminal convictions in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania to decide whether clemency should be recommended to the Governor. We rely on you to provide highly responsible analytical and administrative support to executives and partners involved in the commutation process. DESCRIPTIONOF WORK
This position provides high-level administrative support and participates in critical analyses and processes that help the Board of Pardons carry out its mission effectively. As an Administrative Officer 2, you will perform the following duties.
- Direct Processes:
Analyze commutation packets and reports to identify relevant information, request such information and track its receipt, and guide staff who assist in the completion of case analysis. - Advance
Collaboration:
Attend Board and other meetings to receive accurate and timely communication, manage relations, and ensure efficiency; liaise with partner agencies to support positive working relationships and meet goals. - Analyze Information:
Collect, interpret, analyze, and summarize commutation information to be used as the basis of Executive action by the Board as well as public information and reports that will impact Board operations. - Develop Policy:
Help modify program policies as necessary to comply with evolving Board objectives; assist in drafting regulations, legislation, or Board action to improve operational efficiency. - Assist Outreach:
Develop materials, presentations, and provide other assistance to programs that contact and educate populations who would benefit from increased knowledge of Board processes.
- Full-time employment.
- Work hours are 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
- Telework:
You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time, after completion of sufficient training. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Harrisburg. The ability to telework is subject to change at any time.

- One year as an Administrative Officer 1 (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or
- Three years of experience in progressively responsible and varied office management or staff work, including experience in personnel management, budgeting, or procurement; and a bachelor's degree; or
- Any equivalent combination of experience and training.
- You must have experience reviewing PA criminal court records.
- You must be able to perform essential job functions.
- Experience reviewing Department of Corrections report.
- Experience using JNET/CLEAN.
- You must pass a background investigation and meet Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) compliance requirements.
