SummaryStep into a role that values your sharp eye for detail as an Audit Specialist 3 with the Department of Human Services. In this role, you will serve as a regional auditor for 21 or 22 counties and be responsible for all county audits under your authority.

This position supports audits and evaluations of county child support programs, state systems, and funded projects. It focuses on reviewing operations, testing controls, and documenting results to support compliance and improvement. As an Audit Specialist 3, you will perform the following duties:
- Audit Planning: Research laws and policies, identify objectives, and develop audit programs for reviews
- Field Evaluation: Examine operations, test controls and review procedures to determine compliance with requirements
- Team Leadership: Lead audit assignments, review work papers and provide guidance and recommendations to team members
- Report Development: Prepare audit reports that summarize findings, financial data and recommendations
- Corrective Review: Evaluate corrective action plans to confirm that issues are addressed and improvements are effective
- Professional Standards: Maintain knowledge of laws, standards and policies and support quality control reviews
- Full-time employment
- Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
- Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time, up to 3 days per week after successful of probationary period. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Harrisburg.

QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
- One year as an Audit Specialist 2 (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration);
or - Three years of professional auditing experience and a bachelor's degree including or supplemented by eighteen [18] credits in accounting and auditing;
or - Any equivalent combination of experience and training which included the required eighteen [18] credits in accounting and auditing.
Other Requirements:
- PA residency requirement is currently waived for this title.
- You must be able to perform essential job functions.
- This position will have access to Federal Tax Information (FTI) and is subject to the provisions of IRS Publication 1075 (Pub 1075) which requires you to pass an enhanced background check prior to beginning employment. Under Pub 1075, acceptance of a conditional offer of employment will require submission to and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports, including but not limited to: a fingerprint-based federal records check;
a PA State Police clearance; a check of local law enforcement agencies where you have lived, worked, and/or attended school within the last five (5) years; and a citizenship/residency verification.
