ADRC Program Grant Specialist

Introduction

The Department of Health Services (DHS), Division of Public Health (DPH), is recruiting for an Aging and Disability Grant Specialist in the Bureau of Aging and Disability Resources (BADR).

This position offers the option to work remotely up to 5 days per week and will be headquartered at one of the DPH central or regional offices. This schedule may vary depending on training and operational needs. Statewide travel may be required up to 10% of the time.

As the Aging and Disability Grant Specialist, you will be responsible for allocating state and federal funds within multiple program areas and contracting with Wisconsin's Area Agencies on Aging and County and Tribal Aging Units.

Responsibilities include:

• Providing technical assistance to contracted agencies regarding the claiming and reporting of funds.
• Monitoring the procedures of these agencies.
• Compiling data to complete required state and federal reports.
• Providing general support for fiscal and grant management activities of the Bureau's financial staff as well as Office on Aging Program Managers who administer and oversee state and federally authorized and funded aging programs.
• Working with program managers and contracted partners on monitoring and improving methods for compliance with the requirements for all federal, state and local funding sources.
• Assisting with the preparation of budgets and budget requests.
• Developing fiscal criteria for contracts.
• Developing and monitoring reporting systems.
• Monitoring the fiscal operations of partner agencies.
• Developing and deploying specific training and technical assistance materials for external business partners in order to support program improvement and implement policy changes.

The starting pay is between $38.30 and $42.00 per hour (approximately between $79,600 and $87,300 per year), depending on qualifications, plus excellent benefits. A 12-month probationary period is required.

Pay for current or former state employees will be set based on the rules that apply to compensation for the applicable transaction. The position is classified as a Grants Specialist - Advanced and is in pay schedule and range 07/03.

For positions that allow remote working flexibility, working outside of Wisconsin or in bordering cities will not be allowed except in extremely limited circumstances due to the need to report to an office location in Wisconsin on short notice.

Employees must have access to secure high-speed internet for remote work option. Mileage reimbursement to the employee's headquarter location is not provided. Remote work flexibility will be discussed in more detail during the interview process.

Minimally qualified applicants will have all of the following:

• Experience using accepted accounting principles and bookkeeping practices in contracting and grants management.
• Experience with contract or grant management activities such as procurement, contracting, budget reconciliation, fiscal oversight and monitoring in an organization that funds multiple subrecipients.
• Experience developing and providing written and oral training and technical assistance to internal and external collaborators.
