The Executive Director of the Port Gamble S'Klallam Housing Authority, the Tribally Designated Housing Entity for the Port Gamble S'Klallam Tribe. The person occupying this position is expected to employ sound management skills and professional business standards in the day-to-day operations of the Housing Authority and its projects. The position will oversee the assignment and supervision of work for 10 to 15 employees, and coordinate with The Board of Commissioners, Tribal Council, and other Departments of the Port Gamble S'Klallam Tribe.
Other responsibilities include planning current and future housing on the reservation, including the preparation of the Indian Housing Plan and Annual Performance Report, serving as the Contract Officer for construction projects and preparing requests for proposal and bid documents.

This position is eligible for routine remote work of up to one day per week. The schedule must be discussed with and approved by the Board of Commissioners/Executive Director and may be subject to change depending on role and department need.

Requirements:
- Ability to foster and maintain positive working relationships with employees, other tribal staff, vendors, contractors, local, state and federal officials.
- Ability to consult and work with attorneys and consultants to prepare/revise policies, draft contracts, draft Request for Proposals, Memorandum of Understanding, Memorandum of Agreements and other legal documents.
- Ability to confer and engage with Housing and Urban Development officials to ensure compliance with federal rules and regulations.
- Ability to draft grant narratives and work with Tribal grant writers to identify appropriate grant opportunities that assist Housing with funding Housing Authority projects.
- Ability to differentiate and present issues to the Housing Board of Commissioners and Tribal Council in a professional manner that leads to decisions and resolutions.
- Ability to understand and work within the requirements of Housing and Urban Development, Native American Housing and Self-Determination Act and Low Income Housing Tax Credit and other grant agency requirements and regulations.
- Ability to prepare/write updates and reports for Housing, Council, funding agencies, in a clear, concise and professional manner.
- Ability to track progress and ensure completion of a project on time and on budget, including day to day projects and construction projects.
- Ability to organize and maintain records consistent with Housing and Urban Development, Low Income Housing Tax Credit projects, and other agency regulations.
- Ability to understand building code requirements.
- Ability to understand architectural renderings.
- Must understand Tribal and federal procurement, contracts, inspection requirements and construction projects.
- Working knowledge of personnel, materials, equipment and terminology associated with Housing construction projects.
- Ability to budget, track expenditures and make budget recommendations and reports.
- Ability to multi-task and perform under pressure with no supervision.
- Ability to understand and take directions for future planning.
- Ability to think strategically and engage relevant stakeholders in planning future housing.
- Ability to prioritize reports, meetings, travel/training.
- Must know other agency and tribal services to refer tenants in crisis.
- Valid Drivers License.
