What You'll Do as a Program Administrator 1
  • Within the Bureau of Motor Vehicles, International Registration Plan (IRP) section, provides program direction by relieving supervisor of non-routine administrative duties related to the IRP Plan Compliance Program:
  • Acts for administrator by independently answering complex &/or confidential inquiries pertaining to the IRP Plan Compliance Program;
    Provides program &/or policy information to stakeholders, government officials &/or general public;
  • Serves as liaison between administrator, BMV staff &/or stakeholders;
    Transmits decisions & directives regarding program rules & operating procedures;
    Responds to any programmatic issues or needs;
  • Formulates & implements program policies, operational procedures, & best practices;
    Interprets federal, state & local laws to ensure compliance;
    Communicates policy updates to all stakeholders;
  • Ensures the State of Ohio's compliance with federal program requirements by analyzing & interpreting applicable rules, identifying IRP registrants & applications that are not in compliance, & taking appropriate registration status actions in a timely manner;

Qualifications Option 1

36 mos. trg. or 36 mos. exp. in business administration, management science or public administration. If assigned to operate vehicles regulated by Section 4506.01 of Revised Code, applicants must also have valid commercial driver's license.

Option 2

-Or completion of undergraduate core program in business administration, management science or public administration;

AND 12 mos. trg. or 12 mos. exp. in supervisory, administrative &/or managerial position which involved limited research & public contact. If assigned to operate vehicles regulated by Section 4506.01 of Revised Code, applicants must also have valid commercial driver's license.

-Or completion of undergraduate core program in academic field commensurate with program area to be assigned per approved Position Description…
