This position focuses on enforcing the Pennsylvania Human Relations Act by investigating and resolving discrimination complaints in employment and public accommodations. As a Human Relations Representative 1, you will perform the following duties:

• Case Investigation:
  Conduct thorough inquiries into discrimination complaints and gather accurate information
• Legal Knowledge:
  Maintain working understanding of relevant state and federal anti-discrimination laws
• Conference Preparation:
  Schedule and lead Fact Finding Conferences to review issues and explore resolution
• Interviewing Parties:
  Speak with complainants, respondents, and witnesses to secure testimony and clarify details
• Record Management:
  Document all case events in the Case Management System with accuracy and timeliness
• Settlement Facilitation:
  Communicate proposals and help parties work toward fair and voluntary agreements

• Full-time employment
• Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
• Telework:
  You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time up to three days a week. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Harrisburg. The ability to telework is subject to change at any time.

• One year as a Human Relations Representative Trainee (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or
• One year of professional administrative investigative, criminal investigative, regulatory investigative, civil rights, or human rights experience involving gathering evidence, interviewing, and reporting investigative findings; and a bachelor’s degree that includes 12 credits in human resources, labor management relations, civil rights, social work, social justice, public policy, public administration, or a related field; or
• An equivalent combination of training and experience that includes 12 college credits in human resources, labor management relations, civil rights, social work, social justice, public policy, public administration, or a related field.
