Program Coordinator | School of Medicine, Pediatrics

Description

The Program Coordinator duties include organizing, coordinating, and planning operational facets of a program and its related activities. This involves establishing long‑term operational objectives, researching factors that may influence program success, and working with individuals or groups to document program requirements, thereby providing input into strategic planning.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop work plans to accomplish program goals and objectives and monitor progress toward their achievement.
  • Conduct research and gather information to develop various publications.
  • Create promotional materials, including content for reports, briefings, newsletters, grants, or other written information related to the program.
  • Assist in developing and coordinating program‑related conferences, conventions, or meetings.
  • Monitor expenditures, participate in budget planning, and prepare financial reports.
  • Assist in identifying funding resources and developing fundraising strategies and initiatives.
  • Prepare operational and statistical reports.
  • Conduct training, represent the program at meetings and conferences, network with affiliated groups, and may supervise assigned project staff, interns, and/or volunteers.
  • Perform related responsibilities as required.
Additional Details
  • Manages day‑to‑day operations of one or more pediatric subspecialty clinical fellowship training programs. Prior experience in education administration, especially medical education, supervisory or management experience is helpful.
  • Duties include assistance with ACGME/GME‑required reporting and monitoring activities, scheduling of educational events and meetings, annual fellow recruitment, onboarding, tracking program milestones, assisting with visa application preparation, monitoring budgets, preparing reports for accreditation agencies, and supporting the Program Director/Associate Program Director.
  • On occasion, early morning, evening, or weekend work hours may be required.
  • Vaccination requirements: seasonal influenza vaccine is a condition of employment; new employees must be willing to be vaccinated if non‑immune to measles, mumps, rubella (MMR), chickenpox (varicella), and/or without evidence of tetanus, diphtheria, acellular pertussis (Tdap) since 2005. Concerns can be discussed with Human Resources.
  • The position will be located mainly at the Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta campus on North Druid Hills Road.
  • NOTE:

    This role permits regular work from home but requires commuting to Emory University on a flexible weekly schedule based on business needs. Residency in GA is required. Emory reserves the right to change remote work status with notice.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in a field related to the program.
  • Two years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
Preferred Qualifications

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including spelling and grammar.
  • Strong interpersonal and problem‑solving skills with attention to accuracy and detail, ability to work with ambiguity, and navigate a complex work environment without direct supervision.
  • Self‑motivated with experience working independently as well as collaboratively to achieve goals, and a commitment to delivering exceptional customer service to stakeholders.
  • Ability to multitask and manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet multiple deadlines with adaptability.
  • Ability to make well‑thought decisions quickly when needed.
  • Computer skills using Microsoft Office applications required; ability to learn program‑specific software.
  • Previous experience in a medical education environment.
