** About the Job:
** The Professional Outpatient Coding Educator will provide outpatient coding education and monitor quality initiatives for the coding department, and Elliot Health System providers. This position plays a strategic role in validating the accuracy of CPT, ICD-10 and HCPCS coding done by both coders and providers. This position is actively involved in the dissemination of coding requirements and updates to appropriate stakeholders.

* What You’ll Do:

*** Perform operational functions of the Coding Education program, which includes tracking quality metrics ; monitoring programs; and implementing coding education initiatives, for all coders and medical staff to support the health system’s mission
* Perform coding quality audits of records for CPT, ICD-10-CM, and HCPCS code assignment
* Document and review recommended coding changes with appropriate management and staff
* Identify trends and patterns in coding and documentation variances and provide education
* Develop and present education materials to coders and providers
* Enhance and improve Clinical Documentation Improvement programs by working closely with coders and providers

** Who You Are:
*** Associate’s or Bachelor’s Degree in Health Information Management (HIM) or related field, Required
* 5 + years of coding experience, preferably in a multi-specialty group practice.
* AAPC Coding Certification(s), CPC, CPC-H, CCS, CCS-P, Required
* Experience/knowledge with healthcare coding and documentation audits and appeals
* Ability to meet deadlines consistently and reliably
