A sterile and non-sterile 503A compounding pharmacy is seeking an experienced Pharmacist-in-Charge (PIC) to oversee multi-state compounding operations remotely. The PIC will serve as the designated supervising pharmacist for regulatory compliance, quality systems, and inspection readiness across multiple state licenses. This is a remote leadership position requiring strong knowledge of USP , , , state Board of Pharmacy regulations, and proven experience managing or advising compounding operations.
Key Responsibilities- Serve as the regulatory and operational lead for all compounding activities.
- Maintain full compliance with USP standards, state, and federal pharmacy regulations.
- Approve and oversee SOPs, Master Formulas, Batch Records, and QA documentation.
- Ensure proper training, competency, and supervision of pharmacists and technicians.
- Review and release compounded preparations after verifying sterility, stability, and documentation.
- Manage deviations, investigations, and CAPA (Corrective and Preventive Actions).
- Lead state and NABP inspections and respond to regulatory inquiries.
- Conduct remote audits of logs, formulations, and environmental data.
- Collaborate with on-site staff and the compliance team to maintain continuous inspection readiness.
- Active, unencumbered pharmacist license in ALL U.S. state (multi-state licensure preferred).
- Eligible or willing to obtain PIC licensure in required all states listed above.
- 5+ years experience in sterile and/or non-sterile compounding (503A or 503B).
- Demonstrated understanding of USP , , , FDA, DEA, and state board compliance.
- Prior experience preparing for or leading Board of Pharmacy or NABP VPP inspections.
- Strong leadership, communication, and documentation skills.
- Proficiency in remote compliance management systems and digital documentation review.
