Overview
Summary:
Responsible for the coordination and planning of Infection Control activities. Provides guidance and consultation in the development, planning, and coordination of infection control. Conducts relevant investigations and develop reports pertinent to clinical risk management issues. This position does not involve direct patient care unless specified.
- Report communicable diseases to local and state health departments and complete public health department forms as needed
- Utilize performance improvement methodology as a means of enacting change.
- Develops an annual surveillance plan based on the population(s) served, services provided, and analysis of surveillance data.
- Maintains records of actual potentially infectious patients and reports pertinent information to county, state, and federal agencies as required by law.
- Provides formal and informal education programs to hospital personnel as necessary or when directed.
Masters in Healthcare Management or another relevant field is acceptable.
