Job Description - Advanced Practice Provider (APRN/PA) Cardiothoracic Surgery OR (250000MS)

The Advanced Practice Provider (APP) provides general and specialty medical and/or surgical services to individuals, families, and groups. The focus is on health promotion, disease prevention, diagnosis, and management of acute and chronic diseases. The APP will have the opportunity to practice autonomously and collaboratively within their established scope. All TGH team members are responsible for performing job duties in accordance with the mission, vision, and values of Tampa General Hospital.

• Request, interpret, and evaluate diagnostic and laboratory tests, taking appropriate actions as medically indicated according to departmental protocols. Identify and report signs, symptoms, problems, or potential issues requiring further assessment, communication, and intervention to promote positive outcomes.
• Work autonomously and in collaboration with a team to diagnose and manage patients' healthcare problems.

• Demonstrate current knowledge and expertise utilizing evidence and theory-based practices, infection control standards, and clinical evaluations in providing care in clinic or hospital settings, following established protocols.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and electronic medical records (EMR) systems, preferably Epic.
• Ability to multitask in a dynamic environment.
• Strong written and oral communication skills.
• Excellent customer service and conflict resolution skills.

• Current licensure as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse or Physician Assistant in Florida.
• For APRNs:
  Acute Care or Adult Gerontology Acute Care board certification and RNFA certification are required.
• National certification is required for PAs.
