Overview

Totus Neurorehabilitation is a growing community neurorehabilitation service providing brain injury rehabilitation and cognitive assessments throughout the South West of England and South Wales, and East Anglia. There are currently three teams;
Bristol, Exeter (expanding along the south coast) and East Anglia.

We are looking for an enthusiastic and committed Clinical Psychologist/Neuropsychologist to join our team in Bristol. Our client base is predominantly individuals who have sustained a traumatic brain injury requiring neurorehabilitation in their own homes. We also receive referrals for individuals diagnosed with stroke, Multiple Sclerosis, and other neurological conditions, with a cognitive assessment service to aid diagnosis, and for support in education and work recommendations.

As the post covers a large geographical area, we require you to hold a full UK driving licence, have access to a car for business purposes and are able to travel long distances for appointments. You will also be partly working from home and will need a confidential space to do online sessions and meetings when needed.

The post holder will be part of an interdisciplinary rehabilitation team (including Physiotherapists, Occupational Therapists and Speech and Language Therapists) providing evidence-based brain injury rehabilitation, cognitive assessments and capacity assessments in the community, clients homes, or outpatient clinics.

You will be responsible for managing your own caseload within the team and working across services and systems throughout our clients rehabilitation journeys. You will be able to work collaboratively and creatively with evidence-based approaches, and you will have a keen interest in neuropsychology with a desire to develop excellence in the field.

You will receive support in developing your career with supervision from Neuropsychologists on the Specialist Register of Neuropsychologists. This is a fantastic opportunity to learn from experts in the field.

You will have experience of working with clients with neurological presentations, experience of working within complex psychosocial systems, and the confidence to lead a multidisciplinary team through complex case formulation. The post is suitable for experienced clinicians or as a development opportunity for newly qualified Clinical Psychologists with a passion for a career in neuropsychology (pay rate will reflect experience). An MSc in Applied Neuropsychology or similar would be desirable.

The post is a 12 month fixed term to cover maternity, with the possibility of extending to a permanent post.

Totus is a complete neurorehabilitation service, bringing together expert clinicians to support people following acquired brain injury, neurological illness or complex physical trauma. Our multidisciplinary team includes specialists in neuropsychology, occupational therapy, physiotherapy, speech and language therapy, dietetics, and MS support services. We work closely with case managers, solicitors, families and support teams to deliver coordinated, person-centred rehabilitation that maximises each individuals potential.

The post holder will have their working base at home and will provide neuropsychological assessment and rehabilitation services to clients in the clients own homes or at a designated clinic room. The post holder will work in an interservice context across several systems including the patient and family, case managers, legal services, allied health professionals both within and external to Totus, and with statutory services.

The post holder will be supported by the Totus Neurorehabilitation Ltd Directors, and supervised by a senior Clinical Neuropsychologist.

The post holder is required to have demonstrated a very high level of academic success in psychology to Doctoral level equivalent.

The post holder must be registered as a Practitioner Psychologist with the Health Care Professions Council. A recognised postgraduate qualification in clinical psychology is required. If the post holder has not already obtained the BPS Qualification in Clinical Neuropsychology, then he or she should be willing to commence a programme of study in order to become eligible.
