Job Responsibilities- Assess patients and perform routine CT procedures safely, following radiation safety procedures and protocols.
- Serve as a clinical mentor for junior staff and students.
- Verify physician orders and procedures for accuracy.
- Operate imaging equipment independently according to protocol, including IV placement.
- Review images for diagnostic quality before transmission.
- Complete quality control procedures in compliance with standards.
- Assist in departmental operations such as inventory, scheduling, and equipment maintenance.
- Communicate effectively with patients, respecting their privacy and adapting explanations as needed.
- Stay informed about current laws, standards, and regulations relevant to the role.
Required:
Completion of an approved Radiologic Technology program.
Preferred: CT experience.
CertificationsRequired:
ARRT registration in Radiologic Technology and/or CT certification, or eligible and registered within 90 days of employment; current BLS certification.
Preferred:
Advanced CT certification.
- Proficiency with Windows applications and role-specific software.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Knowledge of CT procedures and technical language.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and work efficiently under pressure.
- Flexibility in work hours and duties.
- Understanding of cardiac anatomy, Doppler physics, and related skills for identifying stenosis or occlusion.
- Ability to assist with ultrasonic-guided interventional procedures.
Medium work with lifting requirements; ability to stand for prolonged periods; exposure to biological hazards and communicable diseases; potential exposure to hazardous materials.
