Job Description:
This dual-post position is linked to Job - MCS
- University Physicians. The department will be hiring for one position. Review complex clinical documentation and diagnostic results timely to accurately assign codes for diagnoses (ICD-10-CM), procedures (CPT), and applicable modifiers for services provided to assure maximum reimbursement and regulatory compliance. Work with insurance and government payers to obtain appropriate retroactive authorizations based on surgical services provided. Comply with applicable organization policies (Quality Assurance, Working Remote, Productivity, etc.).
Remote working options available.
Monday - Friday, 8:00 a.m.
- 5:00 p.m. or M, Tu, W, F, 7:00 a.m.
- 6:00 p.m. (alternate schedule).
- One of the following certifications:
- CCE Certified Coding Associate (CCA)
- Certified Coding Specialist (CCS)
- Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT)
- Registered Health Information Administrator (RHIA) by AHIMA; or
- Certified Professional Coder (CPC/CPC-A)
- Certified Outpatient Coder (COC/COC-A)
- Certified Inpatient Coder (CIC/CIC-A) by AAPC; or
- Specialty certification per department needs such as Radiation Oncology Certified Coder (ROCC) by AMAC
- High school diploma, medical office technology, or related background along with CPC or CCS-P required.
- Certification in one or more of the following: CPC, CPC-H, CCS, CCS-P, RHIA, RHIT, or CCP. Other coding/billing or compliance certifications by reputable certifying agencies (AAPC, AHIMA, HCCA) are acceptable. Will need a copy of the certification.
Salary Range: $22.00 - $34.74 hourly
