Overview
We administer psychological tests to child, adolescent and adult inpatient and outpatient populations, score tests, compile results, write behavioral observations, administer and score computer-based assessment procedures. Maintain testing supplies and computer services and participate in psychology related activities such as research and projects.
Responsibilities- Interviews patients and documents demographic information, chief complaint, current medications, and other information.
- Administers and scores psychological test batteries to children and adults.
- Writes detailed observations of patient's behavior during testing.
- Records test scores, behavioral observations and billing times and reviews medical charts.
- Processes reports for psychological tests and social histories.
- Maintains testing materials and computer scoring services.
- Accompanies psychologists to and participates in interdisciplinary clinics.
- Assists in section/departmental research.
- Adapts behavior to the specific patient population, including privacy respect, introduction to services, explaining procedures, requesting permissions and communication style.
- Performs other related duties as required.
Education
- Required – Bachelor's degree.
- Preferred – Bachelor’s degree in psychology or related field.
Work Experience
- Required – None.
- Preferred – 1 year of experience with cognitive and behavioral assessments.
Knowledge,
Skills and Abilities
(KSAs)
- Knowledge of human behavior and performance.
- Knowledge of principles, methods and procedures for diagnosis, treatment and rehabilitation of physical and mental dysfunctions.
- Proficiency in using computers, software, and web-based applications.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills and ability to present information clearly and professionally.
- Interpersonal skills and ability to work one-to-one with a diverse patient population.
- Critical thinking/analytical skills.
- Time management and organizational skills and attention to detail.
Light Work – Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, up to 10 pounds frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly. May involve standing or walking for significant periods.
