JOB SUMMARY

The RBT at Elite Spectrum ABA is entrusted with a great deal of responsibility for the care of their patients. They must work within the guidance and oversight of a Board‑Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) and/or RBT Supervisor to deliver behavior analysis services and techniques to the best of their abilities. They work closely with supervisors to ensure exceptional patient safety, meet expectations, provide effective services, maintain confidentiality, and help achieve the best possible outcomes.

PRIMARY

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES Measurement
  • Implement procedures such as continuous and discontinuous measurement.
  • Collect data on client behaviors electronically.
  • Describe the behaviors and environments in observable and measurable terms.
Assessment
  • Assist in conducting preference and/or functional assessments.
Skill Acquisition
  • Identify the essential components of a written skill acquisition plan and prepare for the session as required by the plan.
  • Use contingencies of reinforcement, continuous or intermittent schedules.
  • Utilize discrete‑trial teaching methods, and naturalistic teaching strategies such as incidental teaching, task analysis, chaining approaches, and discrimination training.
  • Carry out stimulus control transfer, prompting, prompt fading, generalization, maintenance, shaping, and token economy processes.
Behavior Reduction
  • Identify the key elements of a written behavior plan and the typical roles that behavior plays.
  • Incorporate interventions that adjust motivating operations and discriminative stimuli.
  • Put differential reinforcement procedures into effect (e.g., DRA, DRO).
Documentation and Reporting
  • Prepare objective session notes that meet legal, regulatory, and professional standards, including an accurate account of the session.
  • Maintain consistent dialogue with a supervisor and ask queries as needed.
Professional Conduct and Scope of Practice
  • Adhere to BACB's RBT supervision requirements and the role of RBTs in the service‑delivery system.
  • Communicate with stakeholders (family, caregivers, other professionals) as authorized.
QUALIFICATIONS EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
  • Graduate of an education program approved by the credentialing body for the required credential(s) indicated below in the Certificates, Licenses, and Registrations section.
  • Student of an education program on a path to working with persons diagnosed with an autism spectrum disorder.
EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
  • At least 1 year of experience as a Registered Behavior Technician.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, AND REGISTRATIONS REQUIRED
  • BACB RBT Certification (active and in good standing).
  • American Heart Association CPR/BLS with a live component, or willingness to obtain within 30 days of employment.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED
  • Demonstrates the skills and competencies necessary to safely perform the assigned job through ongoing assessments.
  • Proficiency in speaking, reading, and writing English necessary for patient and employee safety.
  • Ability to effectively communicate with patients, providers, and co‑workers using positive language principles.
  • Ability to work independently, handle challenging therapy procedures, and exercise sound judgment.
  • Strong interpersonal, teamwork, and leadership skills with all levels of the healthcare team.
  • Proficient computer knowledge.
  • Professional competence.
