• Ensure a smooth and efficient claims submission process with minimal denials, identifying gaps in claims
• Follow up on unpaid claims, denials, and appeals to secure maximum reimbursement
• Investigate and resolve billing discrepancies or coding issues as they arise
• Collaborate with internal teams to provide necessary documentation and training for claims submission
• Maintain accurate and organized billing records, generating reports to monitor performance and improvement areas

• Minimum of 1 year of experience as a Billing Specialist in a healthcare setting, preferably in telehealth
• In-depth knowledge of Medicaid and Medi-Cal billing guidelines and state-specific reimbursement rules
• Strong proficiency in ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS coding related to abortion services and reproductive health
• Proven experience managing the full claims lifecycle, including submission, denial management, and appeals
• Familiarity with Electronic Health Records (EHR) and Revenue Cycle Management (RCM) systems

• Experience working in a telehealth environment
• Strong analytical skills to navigate billing complexities
• Familiarity with HIPAA regulations and a commitment to patient data privacy
• Proficiency in Excel or Google Sheets for data management
• A passion for advancing equitable healthcare and understanding patient needs
